In the heart of Bairro Alto, Cerâmica Bairro Alto is an unique space in the city of Lisbon. With more than thirty years of activity, it maintains the characteristics of an old significant place in one of the historical districts of the city, simultaneously being an atelier/shop and gallery, designed for the manufacture, teaching and sale of unique works in ceramics.

Without the help of molds or wheel, the items are entirely handmade, according to criteria of quality and originality, aiming to promote ceramics as an artistic activity, in diversified workpieces, ranging from the utilitarian to the sculptural.

In the studio, workshops are held on a variety of themes as well as special Christmas ateliers. These workshops are sought by both national and foreign residents, who thus have the opportunity of learning and have contact with national pottery.

The interaction with the surrounding community is one of the characteristics of Cerâmica Bairro Alto, not only through the workshops, but also through exhibitions, and the possibility for those who visit us of actually often watching the performance of live works.

We frequently participate in ceramics exhibitions, both in galleries and museums, and have already been awarded several prizes.
